PURPOSE: To realize a display device capable of expressing two-dimensional and three-dimensional images in a space with a relatively simple method and constitution. CONSTITUTION: This display device focuses a laser beam with a large NA value, repeats lighting and putting out while profiling the focusing point thereof to the shapes of the images desired to draw and executes scan while changing the light intensity. The scanning light is bent by optical parts, such as lens 6, so as to adjust the direction of the exit light near to an approximately parallel direction, by which the beam waist thereof is kept nearly on the two-dimensional plane. Main scan and sub-scan are executed by an optical scanning machine 4, by which the two-dimensional images are drawn in the air. The three-dimensional images are drawn in the air if the main scan and sub-scan are executed at a high speed by the optical scanning machine 4 while the beam waist position is fluctuated by moving the lens existing near a light source or in mid-way of the optical path at a high speed by an actuator, etc. |
