<p>PURPOSE: To load an FDD and a CDROM drive into a portable computer so that they can be freely exchanged with each other. CONSTITUTION: An internal FDD unit 14 and an internal CDROM drive unit 15 are selectively loaded into an FDD/CDROM slot 13. As the base part 151 of the unit 14 or 15 is stored in a cut-out part of a system board 21 that is cut in a U-shape, the thickness of a computer main body 11 can be reduced. Furthermore, an external FDD port is automatically set in an enable state for connection of an external FDD unit 16 when the unit 15 is loaded. Thus the external FDD unit 16 becomes available. When the unit 14 is loaded in place of the unit 15, the unit 16 is automatically disabled.</p> |
