PURPOSE: To improve discrimination accuracy by using image information read through optical magnification of an original, discriminating whether or not the original is a special original and stopping the image forming when the original is discriminated to be the special original thereby reading the image with high resolution. CONSTITUTION: A system controller 108 calculates a magnification so that a projected image width is coincident with a main scanning width of a CCD 101 based on the size of an original and drives moving motors 110, 111 to move a zoom lens 109 and the CCD 101 to a proper position. Succeedingly preliminary scanning is applied at a sub-scanning speed corresponding to the magnification and when a special original discrimination section 105 discriminates an original to be a special original based on the read image information, the discrimination section 105 sends an inhibit signal to an output inhibit circuit 106, in which copy inhibit is executed. On the other hand, when the original is discriminated not to be a special original, usual copying is executed. |
