PURPOSE: To provide a graphics device which can display video data on a display at a high speed in optional size without exerting any influence on the traffic of a system bus and putting any load on a host computer. CONSTITUTION: A local memory 3 is a video memory serving as a frame memory for temporarily storing video data to be displayed on the display 5. A graphics controller 1 inputs the video data on the basis of the instruction of a host system 2 and writes it in the local memory 3, and reads the data out of the local memory 3a and transfers it to the display. The graphics controller 1 internally has means which sets a texture pattern area in a video input area for the video memory in the local memory 3 and sets a texture pasting area in the display area as the frame memory to perform texture mapping. |
