PURPOSE: To automatically correct an error by utilizing the time when a CPU does not access a memory. CONSTITUTION: A check code generation part 5 generates a check code to be written in a memory circuit 1 together with data from the data when the data is written in the memory circuit 1, and an error checking and correcting circuit 6 inputs the data and check code read out together with the data when the data is read out of the memory circuit 1, and detects and corrects an error of the data. If the error is detected by the error checking and correcting circuit 6, an address latch circuit 7 temporarily stores the data address and a data latch circuit 8 temporarily stores the data. A CPU monitor part 9 monitors access to the memory by a CPU and writes the data of the data latch circuit 8 in the memory circuit 1 at the address of the address latch circuit when the CPU performs no access. |
