PURPOSE: To include provisions for repair and adjustment of an amplifier section quickly by receiving a control signal sent from the remote commander so as to adjust the amplifier section, detecting the performance and sending it to the commander thereby reducing the possibility of a dangerous high altitude work. CONSTITUTION: A control signal generated from an operation section 12 and sent from a transmission section 11-1 of a remote commander 10 is received by a reception section 5-1 of a CATV amplifier 1 suspended on an outdoor messenger wire or the like, and an amplification factor/power supply voltage adjustment control signal is fed to an amplifier section 2 via a control section 4. Then a detection section 3 detects a CATV electric signal level, a power supply voltage and a temperature around the amplifier or the like being the results of adjustment and sent to the commander 10 via the control section 4 and a transmission section 5-2 again. In this case, the control section 4 stores the data and sends them to the commander 10 as required. The commander 10 uses the reception section 11-2 to receive the reply data and a display section 13 displays the performance of the amplifier section 2. Thus, the performance of the amplifier 1 is detected and the characteristic of the amplifier 1 is adjusted on ground by remote control.
