PURPOSE: To provide an electrostatic recording head reduced in the voltage applied across a discharge electrode and a control electrode in order to control a charged particle to a large extent. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of dielectric electrodes 1 and a plurality of discharge electrodes 2 arranged so as to hold a dielectric layer 3 therebetween constitute matrices extending in different directions and discharge orifices 4 for forming charged particles are formed to the crossing part of the matrices. A control electrode 7 is arranged to the discharge electrodes 2 through an insulator layer 6 having a notch 5 permitting the charged particles to pass and the control orifice 8 for emitting the charged particles is provided to the position corresponding to the discharge orifices 4. These electrodes, the dielectric layer and the insulator layer are integrally laminated and formed on a recording head base material to be mounted on an image recording apparatus by an attaching frame 10. As various data, the thickness of the dielectric electrodes, the discharge electrodes and the control electrode is set to 20μm and the thickness of the dielectric layer is set to 15μm and that of the insulator layer is set to 15μm and the diameter of the discharge orifices and the control orifice 8 are set to 60μm. |
