PURPOSE: To lessen the number of parts while surely keeping the generation of prescribed d.c. high voltage for lamp starting by connecting a boosting capacitor together with each diode to which an igniter is connected in series in a prescribed way. CONSTITUTION: Respective boosting capacitors C1-C4, which compose respective boosting stages together with respective dioded D1-D4 to which igniters are connected in series, are connected with one end T11 side and the other end T12 side reciprocally. A discharge lamp lighting apparatus consists of a series- type multiple voltage rectifying filter circuit 40S composed by connecting, together with a discharge lamp 20, the boosting capacitor C4 which composes the final boosting stage in series between the one end T11 side and the other end T12 side. As a result, while a prescribed d.c. high voltage for lamp starting being guaranteed, the number of the parts which compose one boosting stage can be lessened. |
