PURPOSE: To provide a double cylinder type damping device which can stabilize operation by suppressing the delay of operation in both the directions in extension and compression. CONSTITUTION: A double cylinder type damping device is equipped with an outer cylinder 5A which forms a reservoir chamber between the inner cylinder and a piston for dividing the upper and lower oil chambers in the inner cylinder, and allows the working oil to flow between the upper and lower oil chambers 11A and the reservoir chamber, in correspondence with the intrusion and retreat of a piston rod which penetrates through the upper oil chamber. At this time, a valve body 58 is urged in the direction for closing the oil passages 22B and 72 connecting the upper oil chamber and the reservoir chamber 6A by a spring 68, and in extension, the internal pressure in the upper oil chamber is speedily increased, while in compression, the internal pressure in the lower oil chamber 11A is speedily increased by a check valve 76. |
