PURPOSE: To provide a sound shielding material capable of efficiently shielding and absorbing noises of different frequency levels even if many sound sources exist and these noises exist. CONSTITUTION: The sound shielding material 1 provided with pulverized rubber layers 2 consisting of pulverized rubber having various sizes, shapes and kinds and coating layers 3 for coating these pulverized rubber layers 2 is mounted on the inside surface of a hood panel. High-density parts 4 which are partially compression molded and are formed thinner than the non-compressed parts are formed at the sound shielding material 1. The noises are individually and locally absorbed by many pieces of the pulverized rubber itself and the gaps between the pieces of the pulverized rubber. The plural noise generating sources are disposed in an engine room. The pulverized rubber of the various sizes, shape and kinds are mixed and the density and thickness of the pulverized rubber vary partially. The frequency levels of the noises that can be shielded and absorbed, therefore, vary eventually with individual pieces of the pulverized rubber and parts and the noises having the plural frequency levels are surely shielded and absorbed. |
