PURPOSE: To reduce the discomfortable noise of the brake squeak generated in the brake application on a vehicle in an effective form, and prevent the deterioration of the elastic body and an adhesive and the deterioration of the buffer function of the elastic body. CONSTITUTION: A weight 5 is installed on a web 3a and a rim 3 or on either of them through an elastic body 4, and the elastic body and the weight are covered by a cover 6 having a prescribed space. When the mass of the weight is (m) and the spring constant of the elastic body is (k), the characteristic vibration frequency of the weight installed through the elastic body f0 =(1/(2π))√(k/m) is set nearly equal to the squeak frequency fs due to a brake shoe or lower than the squeak frequency fs . Accordingly, the brake squeak of a large-sized vehicle having the large size of the brake shoe can be reduced to the sufficient degree in the actual use, only by adding the inexpensive parts, and the essential performance can be maintained, even if the replacement of the brake lining is carried out.
