PURPOSE: To provide the valve seat fitting device which facilitates mounting, removal and adjustment for the position of a fitting surface plate while the whole of the device is being stably and surely supported, shortens working hours, and improves its operating performance.∥CONSTITUTION: A base 2 to be engaged with a closure engaging section 34 at the top of a gate valve valve box 32 is provided with an opening section, a support block 10 is installed onto a frame 12 to be inserted into the opening section in such a way that it can be slid in the longer direction, and it is fixed by a fastening bolt 11. A pivot shaft 9 is screwed in the support block 10 so as to be rotatably supported by a bearing 5. The bearing 5 is installed onto the base 2 in such a way that it can be slid. A driven side sprocket 15 and a fitting surface plate 14 are rotatably installed at the lower end of frame 12, and the rotation of a motor 20 installed on a motor support fixture 18 at the upper end of the frame 12, is transferred to the fitting surface plate 14 by the driven side sprocket and a chain 16, so that a valve seat 33 is thereby ground.
