<p>PURPOSE: To surely waterproof an insertion part by providing a contracted diameter part which extends continuously with the enlarged diameter part, is gradually contracted toward the tip side, and has ribs projected axially in the outer circumference at a prescribed interval, and by cutting and using it according to the diameter of the inserting wire harness. CONSTITUTION: When the outer diameter of a wire harness W/H for inserting in a grommet 10 is larger than the inside diameter of the tip side of the contracted diameter part 10b, the tip side of rib 10g-1, or 10g-2 is cut by scissors at a required position so that the outside diameter of W/H and the inside diameter of the tip of the contracted diameter part 10b are coincided with each other. Therefore, there are no need to prepare different inside diameter grommets or other members. Secondarily, after the diameter of the insertion hole 10f is enlarged by a grommet enlargement machine and W/H is inserted, attachment position is finely adjusted and at the same time an adhesive tape is wound around the outer circumference so as to be fixed. At that time, the rib 10g prevents the adhesive tape from separating. In this state, an engagement groove 10c of the enlarged diameter part 10a of the grommet 10 is made to engage and assemble in the insertion hole of the partition hole of the vehicle.</p> |
