FIELD: metallurgy; manufacture and reconditioning of molds. SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of mold for continuous casting of steel includes preparation of working walls for application of coating, application of aluminium coating and assembly of mold. Coating is applied by spraying on the surfaces of mutual contact of the working walls with total thickness determined by the relation. In this case, the coating thickness on each adjacent surface is proportional to its wear; assembly is accomplished with tightening pressure exerted on the sprayed surface within 20 MPa; Hn is thickness of coating along sprayed-on surface, mm;is yield point of copper M1, MPa; σis yield point of copper which is used for making working surfaces, MPa; δ is tolerated gap between working walls, mm; h is depth of wear of adjacent surface of working walls without coating along their length, mm; P is porosity of the coating applied by spraying, %. In case of reconditioning of the surfaces of mutual contact of working walls of the mold worn coating remaining coating is broken off with shot at pressure of not less than 0.46 MPa. EFFECT: reduced consumption of copper per ton of cast steel. |
