PURPOSE: To make high density mounting possible in a product. CONSTITUTION: A connector 10 is provided with a housing 12 having a lower face 12a to be mounted on a printed circuit board 52, an insertion inlet 14 which is formed in a side face 12b of the housing 12 and to which a flexible printed circuit board 56 are inserted, and a contact piece 16 which is to be brought into contact electrically with a conductive part 62 of a flexible printed circuit board 56 inserted to the insertion inlet 14. A sliding plate 18 to heighten the contact force of the contact piece 16 and the conductive part 62 by pressing the contact piece 16 is installed in the upper face 12c of the housing 12. The sliding plate 18 is one which presses the contact piece 16 to the conductive part 62 by sliding almost in parallel to the printed circuit board 52. An engagingly locking member 20 to hold the sliding plate 18 as the plate in the pressing state is also installed. |
