<p>PURPOSE: To provide a highly accurate and reliable neutron detector and detecting apparatus requiring no high voltage power supply or electric cable and not susceptible to the external electromagnetic noise in which the neutron detector has a simple structure while realizing a dynamic range wide enough to make a measurement even in a low neutron flux field. CONSTITUTION: The neutron detector comprises a vessel 4 having optical windows 17 for transmitting the light at the opposite ends, a neutron nuclear reaction medium 7, an optical modulation medium 6 encapsulated in the vessel 4 and excited through nuclear reaction of the neutron nuclear reaction medium 7, and a waveguide connection 19 for introducing the incident light modulated by the optical modulation medium 6 into the vessel 4 through the optical window 17.</p> |
