PURPOSE: To hold the temporary function as a neon sign by connecting an automatic continuation switch continued by raising the voltage between electrodes in parallel to each neon tube, so that other neon tubes are lighted even when a part of the neon tubes is broken. CONSTITUTION: Since electrodes 5a, 5b are separated in the insulated state by a capsule 7 to carry no current, and the secondary current of a neon transformer 1 is carried to neon tubes 2a-2f, the neon tubes 2a-2f are lighted as usual. When a part of the neon tubes is broken, the voltage between terminals of the broken neon tube is raised, and the voltage between the electrodes 5a, 5b of an automatic continuation switch connected in parallel to the broken neon tube is similarly raised. Thus, a spark is generated between both the electrodes 5a, 5b, and the vinyl coating of the capsule 7 is fused by the heat of the spark. Therefore, both the electrodes 5a, 5b instantaneously make contact to each other to form an electrically continued state, so that the current is carried to the other neon tubes not broken, and the lighting state can be kept. |
