PURPOSE: To provide the reflection type scanning optical device of which size in the travel direction of laser light can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: The divergent light emitted from a semiconductor laser 10 is collimated by a collimator lens 11 into parallel luminous flux, which is made incident on a polygon mirror 14 through a cylindrical lens 12 which has power only in a subscanning direction and a plane mirror 13. The laser light which is reflected and deflected by the polygon mirror 14 at a 1st separation angleθ1 in the subscanning direction is returned by a curved surface mirror 15 toward the polygon mirror 14 at a 2nd separation angleθ2 in the subscanning direction and transmitted through an anamorphic lens 16 which has power mainly in the subscanning direction. The laser light which is transmitted through the anamorphic lens 16 is reflected by an optical path refracting mirror 17 to form a spot, scanning in the main scanning direction as the generator direction of a photosensitive drum 18, on the drum 18. |
