PURPOSE: To make the stability of electrification compatible with the prevention of toner from melting and sticking to an image carrier by dividing an environmental condition into plural areas in accordance with the detection result of temperature and humidity and constant-current controlling bias impressed on an electrifying member based on a current value fixed for every area. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with the electrifying member 2 whose surface comes in contact with the image carrier 1 and which performs electrification by applying voltage obtained by superimposing an AC component on a DC component from the outside and a detecting means detecting at least either the temperature or the humidity inside a device main body, and the AC component is constant-current controlled to be a specified current value. The device is equipped with a control means constant-current controlling the bias impressed on the member 2 based on the current value fixed for every area by dividing the environmental condition to the plural areas in accordance with the detection result by the detecting means. The control means changes the current value in accordance with the detection result after the fixed time from the detection of at least either the temperature or the humidity by the detecting means. The control means performs detection at the intervals of the fixed time by several times and changes the current value in accordance with an average value. |
