QUEUING AND SCHEDULING DIVICE OF ATM CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device used for queuing and scheduling an ATM cell in an ATM exchange. SOLUTION: A sustainable possible cell rate calendar 30 is connected to a peak cell rate calendar 32 in series. The respective cells are independently scheduled. The sustainable possible cell rate calendar 30 guarantees that the cell does not exceed maximum ATM cell delay. In such a case, the cell is scheduled on the peak cell rate calendar 32 and when the cell is sent is determined. Thus, absolute minimum and maximum cell rates in one connection can be guaranteed.
