<p>PURPOSE: To provide an image processor with which an entire hardware amount is reduced by making most of a hardware into a single common circuit not depending on resolution. CONSTITUTION: An input image is fetched into shift registers 63 to 79 and arithmetic parts 81-95 calculate the correcting amount of dot addition/erasure for performing smoothing processing to the edges of lateral lines and longitudinal lines in the input image. While output resolution 300dpi is selected, that image is transmitted to an output deciding arithmetic part 103 as it is, and the output image of horizontal 1200dpi x vertical 300dpi is provided. While output resolution 600dpi is selected, among the correcting amounts for output resolution 300dpi, the correcting amount on the longitudinal lines is transmitted to the output deciding arithmetic part 103 as it is but the correcting amount on the lateral lines is inputted to a resolution converting part 97 and converted to the correcting amount for output resolution 600dpi, and the output image of horizontal 1200dpi×vertical 600dpi is provided.</p> |
