发明名称 FLOW VELOCITY MEASURING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a flow velocity measuring method which enables the measuring of the flow velocity of a molten steel within a mold cast die or the flow velocity of the molten steel near a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: Ultrasonic waves are transmitted in forward and backward directions of the flow of a fluid to measure the flow velocity of the fluid on the basis of the difference in ultrasonic transmission time between the two directions. The fluid is jetted parallel with the long side surface of a cast die 2 from a nozzle 3 positioned almost in the center of the rectangular parallelopiped shaped cast die 2. Transmitting and receiving vibrators 8a and 8b are mounted respectively at both end parts in the direction of the long side of the cast die in an area where the fluid jets through wedges 9a and 9b and the wedges 9a and 9b and the vibrator 8a and 8b are cooled down with a cooling liquid 7 thereby enabling the measuring of the flow velocity of a high temperature fluid.
