PURPOSE: To provide a luminaire capable of surely preventing attaching of an incompatible lamp caused by mistake to a ballast of a discharge lamp for proper use. CONSTITUTION: A luminaire has a luminaire main body 21, a lamp socket 52 for supporting a compatible lamp HfL comprising a straight pipe type fluorescent lamp to be attached to the main body 21, and a dedicated discharge lamp ballast 23 which is attached to the luminaire main body 21 and compatible with the kind of the lamp HfL to be attached to the luminaire main body 21. A stopper projection 61 having a bulb facing part 61a coming close to a bulb circumferential surface of the lamp HfL, supported by the socket 52 is installed in the position other than the attaching/detaching side of the lamp HfL to/from the lamp socket 52 as an incompatible lamp set obstructing means. Attaching of an incompatible lamp L of a different kind from the compatible lamp HfL, having a bulb with a larger diameter than a bulb of the lamp HfL can be prevented, and only the compatible lamp HfL is allowed to be attached. |
