PURPOSE: To enable the formation of erecting images at the same cost as the cost required for conventional curve mirrors and to prevent the traffic accident by the visual illusion of a driver by forming a specific double-curved surface as a mirror finished surface shape and using this curved surface as a curved mirror. CONSTITUTION: The double-curved surface formed when a circular arc is rotated by an arbitrary rotating angle around a straight line 1-1' intersecting perpendicularly at an arbitrary point (m) exclusive of a segment pq on a straight line advancing rectilinearly with the mid- point (p) of the chord of the circular arc as start point and the mid-point (q) of the circular arc as a passage point and having a parallel relation with the chord as an axis of rotation is formed as the surface shape of the curved mirror. The contour and side face shape are made similar to the contour and side face shape of the conventional curved mirror. After this curved mirror is molded from a transparent acrylic resin or polycarbonate resin, the rear surface is subjected to an aluminum plating treatment. The concave curved surface in the double-curved surface optically acts to erect images the right and left videos and the convex curved surface in the double-curved surface optically acts to erect images the upper and lower videos. As the result, the videos on the curved mirror of to which the vehicle driver may have an illusion, are eventually formed as vertically and laterally erected images. |
