<p>A well cooler (4) for closed cooling systems on board vessels, such as ships (1) comprising at least one stack of pipes placed in a well cabinet (3) of a vessel, wherein a free space (7) is present between the inner wall of said well cabinet (3) and the outer sides of said stack(s) of pipes, wherein the pipes are fixed at both ends in headers, and which have a substantially elongated cross section, e.g. rectangular or elliptical, and at least one inlet port and one outlet port for medium to be cooled (5), wherein that flow guiding means are provided for directing cool sea water flowing along a side of a stack of pipes into said stack of pipes.</p> |
