PURPOSE: To obtain an exciter for a synchronous machine in which throw-in of a power system voltage regulation signal can be switched with no bump. CONSTITUTION: When a PSVR ON/OFF contact 7d is turned ON, a PSVR signal is transferred within a range of predetermined variation rate at a drive section 8m if the difference between the PSVR signal and a generator set voltage signal Vgr deviates from a range. The drive section 8m prohibits output of an up/down signal or outputs an up/down signal for minimizing increase or decrease of the generator set voltage signal Vgr. When the PSVR signal comes within the range, the drive section 8m delivers an up/down signal corresponding to the difference between the PSVR signal and the generator set voltage signal Vgr following up the PSVR signal to a generator voltage setting section 7g. An automatic voltage regulating section 7A controls the voltage to nullify the difference from the generator set voltage signal Vgr thus equalizing the high potential bus voltage Vh of power plant to a value set at a bus voltage setting section 8b. |
