PURPOSE: To provide an equipment fault term calculation system capable of shortening job working time, saving manpower and predicting the fault of equipment thereby reducing the work for check and maintenance. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a file input device 1 for manually inputting the specification information and history information of equipment and the start/stop date information of a plant, a specification registering means 2 for registering the inputted specification information of equipments, an equipment specification file 3 for preserving the specification information, a code information file 4 for preserving codes and code name information for which maintenance, check and repair information are systematized, a term calculating method table 5 for preserving the calculating method information of a term from the repair of the equipments to the generation of any fault and the check/repair code information, a history information registering means 6 for registering the history information of equipments, a maintenance history file 7 for preserving the history information, a fault term calculating means 8 for calculating the term from the repair of equipments to the generation of the fault by setting the term calculating method information and the check/repair code information and using the history information of equipments and the start/stop date information of the plant, a term information registering means 9 for registering the fault term information, a fault term file 10 for preserving the term information, and an output device 11.
