<p>PURPOSE: To form oriented and divided regions in which high pretilt oriented films surely do not face with each other without complicating the manufacturing process and to improve display quality with the object of realizing the wide visual characteristic in reference to an oriented and divided liquid crystal display device. CONSTITUTION: The device has a first substrate 201 and a second substrate 202 across a liquid crystal layer 1, a first oriented film having an adjacent high pretilt oriented region 7 and low pretilt oriented region 6 and a second oriented film having an adjacent high pretilt oriented region 12 and low pretilt oriented region 11. The low pretilt oriented region 11 exists in a region facing to the second substrate 202 of the high pretilt oriented region 7. The low pretilt oriented region 6 exists in a region facing to the first substrate 201 of the high pretilt oriented region 12. The low oriented regions 6, 11 face each other in the vicinity of a boundary region between the high pretilt oriented region and low pretilt oriented region 7/6, 12/11 adjacent to each other.</p> |
