PURPOSE: To obtain a photographic sensitive material containing a leuco dye superior in color development performance and absorption characteristics, too, by incorporating a compound obtained by substituting an anilino group having one H atom on N atom at the 2-position of the pyrrole ring. CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material having on a support at least one silver halide emulsion layer contains a compound obtained by substituting the anilino group having one H atom an N atom at the 2-position of the pyrrole ring. It is preferred to contain the leuco dye in an amount of 1×10<-6> -5×10<-2> mol per 1mol of silver halide, especially, 1×10<-5> -2×10<-2> mol. This leuco dye may be used by dissolving it in a proper solvent, such as alcohols, ketones, dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, and methylcellosolve.
