PURPOSE: To provide the character storage device, with which the shape of a character can be stored especially while paying attention to a rectangular pattern, concerning the character storage device such as a Japanese printer, for example, for storing huge characters. CONSTITUTION: Concerning the shape of a character containing the rectangular pattern composed of one rectangular shape at least, rectangular pattern data composed of the position information of one apex of the rectangular shape at least, the height of the rectangular shape and the width of the rectangular shape are stored in a character ROM 6, and those rectangular pattern data are analyzed and restored into the data to be printed by a printing part 9. |
