PURPOSE: To eliminate the waste of charging time and perform an efficient charge by laying a first charging device into the operating state to measure the voltage of a capacitor, and selecting a proper charging device on the basis of the result. CONSTITUTION: When an emission start signal is outputted from a CPU 31 while a charge is stored in a capacitor 26 through a resistor 25, a thyristor 28 is ON, and the anode-side voltage of the thyristor 28 has the same potential as GND. The charge stored in the capacitor 26 is carried from the thyristor 28 to the primary winding of a trigger coil 27 and further the capacitor 26 by this voltage change, a high voltage is generated in the secondary winding by the current change of the primary winding of the trigger coil 27 to excite the gas in a discharge emitting tube 29, whereby a current is carried from a main capacitor 24 to emit a light. Since a proper charging time is selected, thus, the waste of charging time is eliminated, and an efficient charging with little waste can be performed. |
