An anti-rotation spring (20) and a backup plate (30) are mounted on a spindle in a non-rotative manner with the plate in abutment with the bearings that rotatively mount the hub to the spindle. The plate has multiple grooves (32) aligned with and arranged to receive multiple resilient tabs (22) on the periphery of the spring. A nut (10) securing the spring and plate on the spindle has multiple slots (16) around the periphey of a flange. The slots receive a tab of the spring. A tool (40) having extending ears (44) prevent the tabs of the spring from entering a slot of the nut.
