PURPOSE: To prevent a laser energizing current from overshooting a photosensor when generating a laser beam by separating a laser driving means for generating the laser beam from a laser driving means for exposing a photoreceptor. CONSTITUTION: The rotating photoreceptor drum 1 is uniformly electrostatically charged by an electrostatic charger 2, and the electrostatically charged drum 1 is scanned and exposed with light modulated according to an image signal 8 by a laser optical system 3 so as to form a charge latent image. Thereafter, toner is stuck to an area (normal development) where the charge of the charge latent image remains or an area (reversal development) where the charge disappears by a developing device 4, so that the toner stuck to the drum 1 is transferred to the paper 7 by the transfer device 5 and further fixed by a fixing device 6, thereby obtaining a final image. Then, the laser driving means generating the laser beam received by a photoelectric conversion means and the laser driving means for exposing the drum 1 are separated. Therefore, the overshoot of the current supplied to the laser diode is prevented and the laser diode from being ruptured. |
