摘要 PURPOSE: To obtain a potential control method for a photoreceptor capable of quickly and adequately controlling the potential of the image exposure part (light potential) and the potential of the non-exposure part (dark potential) of the photoreceptor, applied to the electrophotographic image forming device. CONSTITUTION: After electrifying a photoreceptor by applying a first voltage VG1 to an electrifying device, projecting the image light of an exposure level LD1 from an exposing device, a first dark potential VH1 and a first light potential LV1 are measured by a potential sensor. Moreover, changing the setting to a second voltage VG2 and an exposure level LD2, a second dark potential VH2 and a second light potential VH2 are similarly measured. Based on the relation between the voltage applied and the dark potential, a voltage VGΦ capable of obtaining a desired dark potential VHS is computed, further based on the relation of the light potential obtained by the dark potential the exposure level and the relative exposure amount is computed, respectively, the exposure level LDΦ capable of obtaining the adequate relative exposure amount is computed. Based on the operation value, the applying voltage and the exposure level at the time of image forming is controlled.
