PURPOSE: To relieve the load of eyes even when a screen is viewed at a close distance by interpolating an odd number field at a position deviated by 1/4 line and an even number field at a position deviated by 3/4 line with respect to an image converted into a size of a field image. CONSTITUTION: A signal obtained by delaying an image signal converted into a field image size by a 1-line delay 301 and a current signal are added by an adder 302 and the resulting signal is halved by a bit shifter 303. A selector 304 according to an odd/even identification signal passes a signal delayed by one line in the case of an odd number field and passes the signal without any modification in the case of an even number field. The signal from the selector 304 and the signal obtained by halving at the bit shifter 303 are added by the adder 302, the sum is halved to obtain an image of the odd or even field. The odd and even number fields provide different images and images through low pass filters having the same band limit of 3:1 or 1:3 are obtained and the edge is not sharp or fogged timewise. |
