<p>PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device which is convenient for a user by accurately detecting the residual amount of developer. CONSTITUTION: In the image forming device provided with a toner housing container (developer housing container) 10a for housing the developer and recording image information on a recording medium with the toner (developer), a magnetic bridge sensor (permeability sensor) 20 is provided to face the outer peripheral side surface wall 10al of the toner housing container 10a and then, the detecting range of the magnetic bridge sensor 20 is set larger than a range from the maximum toner charging state of the toner housing container 10a to its empty state. Thus, not only the presence of the toner in the toner housing container 10a but also the residual amount of the toner can be detected, for the convenience of the user. Moreover, a change in the output of the sensor 20 can be linearly detected from the maximum toner charging state to the empty state, so that the remaining amount of the toner can be more accurately detected.</p> |
