The invention concerns a therapy device for carrying out treatment with focused ultrasound, comprising a phased-array cooled ultrasound source (1) and an acoustic lens (6) situated in front of the source. In addition, the ultrasound source (1) is provided with a support plate (3) between the lens (6) and ultrasound source (1); the phased array ultrasound transducer elements (21 - 26) are mounted on the side of the support plate facing away from the lens (6). The support plate (3) is made from a material of good thermal conductivity, and an ultrasound-conducting cooling fluid is provided between the lens (6) and ultrasound source (1) and adjoins the side of the support plate (3) facing the lens (6); and the thickness of the support plate (3) at least in the vicinity of the ultrasound transducers (21 - 26) is equal to an uneven multiple of one quarter of the ultrasound wavelength in the material of the support plate (3).
