A webbing take-up apparatus (10) is obtained in which the timing of engaging a pair of lock plates (90,190) with both side walls of a frame (11) can be accurately controlled, thereby realizing reliable operation, and which can be manufactured at reduced costs. In the webbing take-up apparatus (10), a cam (166), which axially penetrates a take-up shaft (72), is integrally connected to a lock wheel (102). The lock timings of the lock plates (90,190) disposed at both ends of the take-up shaft (72) are controlled by the lock wheel (102) and the cam (166), respectively, so that the lock plates (90,190) mesh with ratchet (26,28) openings formed in the side walls (12,14). With this operation, the rotation of the take-up shaft (72) is prevented. <IMAGE> |
