The motor vehicle control equipment includes a computer (11) for controlling vehicle systems, and a detection device to detect the condition of the computer immediately prior to reset. The computer processing instructions are specified according to the results of the detection operation. The computer control is halted if it has been reset a preset number of times.The detection device includes a status detection unit which stores an initial value while the computer controls the vehicle, and changes the initial value to a second value when it stops controlling the vehicle. The detection device also includes a status resolution unit, which uses the above values to decide whether the computer is reset during the control operation.
