At least one sheet of flexible film material is unwound from a support bobbin, and at least part of its surface is coated with metallic material. A section (4) of the film sheet is defined, corresponding to the metallised portion, to form the wall of a bag or other container.At least one region of the film is sealed (5) to define an enclosed volume (6), and the sheet is then cut around the sealed portion to form a separate bag. The metallisation process includes heating the film to a temperature defined as a function of the properties of the film material, and laying a metallic layer from a carrier sheet onto the film. |
