The rectangular shaped crate body (1) has a palette (2) fixed to its base. The palette has external dimensions equal to the container internal dimensions so as to be able to slide freely inside it before being attached. The palette is constituted from a corrugated cardboard monobloc assembled from a single plate (7). The two parallel ends of this plate are folded and assembled to form under the plate two parallel rectangular beams (8,9). The palette is supported on the ground by these beams which before final assembly of the crate and palette are slid inside the crate, parallel to two walls (5,6). The contiguous walls (3,4) of the crate body have side parts, extending as far as the base of the beams, which conceal the beam ends. Between the container walls (3,4) flaps (10,11) are cut out which are folded under the palette upper part (7).
