The welding or machining device has a sonotrode (1) and an associated drive employing at least 2 ultrasonic oscillation units (2,3), coupled to a common ultrasonic generator. Pref. the ultrasonic oscillation units employ piezoelectric converters (4) having the same resonance frequency and are connected in parallel. The piezoelectric converters of both oscillation units may be contained in a common converter housing. Pref. the sonotrode has an irregular cross-section. |
