The semiconductor group has a transmitter chip (4) for providing electromagnetic waves in the IR range, a receiver chip (1) for receiving electromagnetic waves in the IR range and an IC amplifier chip (2) for amplifying the photocurrent provided by the receiver chip. All three chips are mounted on a conductor strip device (3) with at least three strip sections, the IC amplified chip lying parallel to the flat side of the conductor strip device and the other two chips lying in a perpendicular plane at one end of the latter.
