Upward deflection limiter for airbag=type suspension

The suspension system for a railway vehicle or a tram includes an air spring (6) which may give a soft ride. There is a system (7) to prevent excessive upward excursions of the body of the vehicle on its springs.The limiting system incorporates a set of valves which may cut off the supply of air to the springs, and even allow air to escape to keep the height of the vehicle body above the ground within the desired parameters. There may be a flexible cord between the bogie and the vehicle body to physically prevent excessive upward deflection of the suspension.
