Prodn. of solid bodies with embedded powder for studying physical and chemical powder properties

The prodn. of solid bodies for investigating the properties of powdered materials comprises: (i) mixing the powder (12) (density = Pp) with a curable liq. matrix material (14) of lower density (Pm); (ii) centrifuging the mixt. until a given min. density of the powder (12) in the sedimented part (16) of the mixt. is obtd.; and (iii) hardening the matrix (14). Also claimed is a solid prod. for the above application, contg. powder (12) sedimented by centrifuging and embedded in a lower-density solid matrix (14).
