The coating is made from an elastic and or soft and or smooth material that is capable of damping dynamic drag-causing eddies. The coating can have one or more layers (2,3) of differing or variable thickness and or elasticity, hardness or porosity either along the coating length or through its depth. Pref. the coating has a downy, hairy or furry surface (3), and that the fibres can be arranged with varying hardness, thickness, elasticity, flexibility, length and orientation.
