The female connector has two sets of clips at one end to hold the wire. The section extends to a forward slot section. The slot section is made of two folded over strips (30,32). Each strip has a flexible top end with circular protrusions (40,38) to the inner surface of the connector, and slot protrusions on the base surface. The construction reduces the mechanical pressure required to insert a male flat plate connector.
