Heat pump with heat transfer from oil circuit to solution entering absorber

The heat pump has a compressor (5) driving vapour from the desorber (3) to the absorber (2). An oil injector (5c) injects oil into the vapour circuit to simultaneously lubricate, seal and cool the compressor. An oil separator (33) in the vapour circuit extracts oil injected at the compressor. Recovered oil is recycled through a return circuit (36).The oil return circuit has a heat exchanger (39) to extract heat from the returning oil. The heat is transferred to the working fluid entering the absorption unit. A second internal heat exchanger (1a) recovers heat from the outlet of the absorption unit for return to the inlet liquid. A controller (42) regulates the rate of fluid flow in response to signals from temp. transducers (44).
