摘要 |
A method for checking a vehicle brake system in which automatic braking is triggered in response to a signal representative of brake pedal travel, comprises, with the vehicle on a roller test-bed, producing a brake pressure in the master cylinder independently of actuation of the brake pedal, detecting the pedal travel produced thereby, measuring the retardation at a wheel achieved by the brake pressure, determining a correlation between the detected pedal travel and the measured retardation, and comparing the determined correlation with a desired correlation to indicate whether or not the brake system is functioning correctly. A pressure difference in a brake booster may produce the master cylinder brake pressure. A value for the retardation can be determined for each wheel. The correlation between the pedal travel and the retardation can be determined for different pressure differences in the brake booster. This can also be performed separately for each wheel.
