The clamp (1) has upper and lower clamp halves (2,3) each with a concave clamp face (4), together defining a reception channel for the electrical cable, with an elliptical cross-section dependent on the relative spacing of the clamp halves.Each clamp half has a second concave clamp face (5) for defining a second reception channel at right angles to the first, similarly having an elliptical cross-section, with a width which is less than that of the first reception channel.
